Leverage Influencers for Awareness then Retarget for Monetization
When you’re just starting your e-commerce brand it’s daunting to put your finger on how to get exposure. If you’re thinking of running Facebook ads you probably have no list or pixel data to build a lookalike audience. Paying influencers have probably crossed your mind but seems like throwing money into a black pit.
We’ve found the best way for a new brand to get started is by marrying these two channels together.
- Find micro-influencers who have your target demographic and align with your brand. Negotiate a package and ask them to put up your sponsored posts.
- There’s no hack to finding influencers without paying for platforms like Upfluence so just search relevant hashtags and personally DM influencers for shoutouts.
- Send them a UTM link so you can track who came to your site from which specific influencers.
- Make your facebook pixels are working properly
- Retarget the traffic brought from the influencer with special offers.
- If your influencer campaigns exposed your audience to your brand at a high level, perhaps you want to follow up with specific product offers, or even coupon codes.
- If your influencers promoted individual products, it might be impactful to serve ads with those products, diving into features or value-props in your ads if your price point is $200+
Here’s an influencer campaign we did with SarahFunky who has a target audience for Vitacoin. Vitacoin is a handmade soap that includes soap for the hand, body, and hair all in one package. We created a series of sponsored posts and stories. We retargeted all her traffic with a special travel case offer and was able to achieve a 7.7x ROAs.
